Special field trip to the Robins AFB

Join OAS on a bird watching tour of Robins Air Force Base (RAFB) in Warner Robins on Saturday, April 25th, to be led by OAS member and RAFB wildlife biologist Bob Sargent.  The base features over 2,000 acres of river swamp, creek forest, bay and gum ponds, a small longleaf pine forest, upland hardwood forest, loblolly pine stands, fields, and lakes.  We typically count 70-80 species on these tours, including as many as 12-14 warbler species (Swainson's is often the highlight).  We'll need to arrive at the base at 7:30 a.m. and will bird until mid-day.  If you would like to join us, please bring water, snacks, a photo ID, and shoes appropriate for muddy conditions.  You must contact Bob no later than April 17th to arrange access to the base (contact information follows).
