How do you see a quiet and still owl in the trees when you're not looking for it? Well, all the birds (that you're looking for) go frantic. They tell on the owl, and you look for the owl, and see it.
As a bonus picture, here is the Rufous Hummingbird that we saw at Bill's house after the morning at the Ocmulgee Mound.
Turned out to be a great morning with Rusty Blackbirds, Wilson's Snipes, Junco, Golden and Ruby Crowned Kinglets, Greater Yellowleg, Sparrows of course, American Kestrel,...almost 50 species.
We both are guilty for not making a mention of the birding outing before making it. You could have joined us! Next time.

Glad that I ran into you otherwise I may not have seen the Great Horned Owl. Such a good bird to start the year to go with the Rufous. Thanks again Bill.
